Criminal Justice Social Work

The Criminal Justice Service carries out the Social Work responsibilities under legislation in respect of all adults aged 16 or over who have offended. This includes:

  • Criminal Justice Social Work Reports
  • Community Payback Orders
  • Court Social Work Service
  • Diversion from Prosecution
  • Drug Treatment and Testing Orders
  • Fiscal Work Orders
  • Supervised Release Orders
  • Parole and non – Parole licences
  • Other Licenses and Orders
  • Throughcare for ex-prisoners
  • Diversion from prosecution
  • Assessments for Restriction of Liberty Orders
  • JSOP (Joint Sex Offender Project)

These services are subject to 100% funding from the Scottish Executive and operate to National Objectives and Standards.

Criminal Justice also provides services in respect of Deferred Sentences, Means Court Reports and Fine Supervision Orders which are not subject to 100% funding.
